Penta has launched its first Brighter Future Award (BFA). The BFA is an annual global event designed to honour and celebrate the remarkable efforts of individuals and grassroots organisations working tirelessly to improve health outcomes for children and pregnant people living with infectious diseases worldwide.

This award has been created by Penta to acknowledge the vital role played by local champions in driving positive change and aims to recognise these outstanding change-makers and provide opportunities for scientists to connect with and learn from local communities at the forefront of maternal and child health.

The BFA offers two categories:

  • Penta’s Brighter Future Award: Six awards, one for each global region

  • Penta’s Brighter Future Young Researcher Award: One award to a young researcher.

Each of the 7 winners will receive a € 5,000 prize to support their ongoing work. Winners will also enjoy an invitation to the Brighter Future Award ceremony, which will take place during Penta’s bi-annual Network meeting, to be held in 2024 in Italy.
