Between 13th-15th June 2023, 165 c4c beneficiaries met in Newcastle, UK for the c4c General Assembly. This meeting has been a great opportunity for colleagues to meet again (or for the first time!) and to collaborate further for the benefit of the c4c network. The focus of this meeting was to provide an update on the progress made so far and to discuss plans for the future of c4c, particularly now that the conect4children Stichting organization has been set-up to sustain the c4c network and continue the great work being carried out by c4c. This meeting also allowed us to come together and celebrate the success of the network, as a whole, as well as recognize the efforts of the people that have made this work possible.

The meeting showcased the shared vision and energy of the project and represented effective work by many people. The c4cProject leadership team (PLT) recognized that the colleagues who make c4c succeed are not usually identified so that the unsung heroes of c4c were acknowledged as champions for paediatric medicines development.” – c4c Project Leadership Team

c4c beneficiary Newcastle University and the John Walton Muscular Dystrophy Research Centre were the local hosts for this meeting. Prof. Volker Straub spoke about what it meant to bring the c4c general assembly to Newcastle:

We are honored to have been able to host the c4c general assembly and to invite our colleagues from across Europe to join us in Newcastle. This has been a wonderful opportunity to meet with colleagues again, celebrate the great work carried out by c4c, plan for the future and to showcase our fantastic city!

The meeting was a great success and beneficiaries look forward to continuing their work to achieve the overall aim of c4c: better medicines for babies, children and young people. For further information about the c4c Stichting, click here.
