In February 2023, CDISC and c4c announced the publication of the CDISC Pediatrics User Guide (PUG), which is freely available on the CDISC website. The PUG was developed by a team of CDISC standards experts, paediatric clinical research experts from CDISC member organizations and paediatric subject matter experts from the c4c consortium following CDISC’s consensus-based, standards development process. The PUG focusses on cross-cutting clinical concepts related to paediatric research and describes how to use CDISC standards to collect and structure data. The use of standards allows data to be more accessible, interoperable and reusable, therefore increasing its value for future research
The development of the PUG highlighted the need for further collaboration in this area, and c4c led a proposal to establish a CDISC Pediatrics User Network to continue and expand on this work.
CPUN members will have an opportunity to:
- Share experiences in implementing CDISC standards.
- Collaborate to identify and address gaps in pediatric data standards.
- Connect with a diverse group of professionals from academia, industry, clinical practice, and data management.
Expertise and input from the CPUN can help shape the future of paediatric research standards. The CPUN welcomes participants from all areas of research and various roles including clinicians, pediatricians, clinical data managers, biostatisticians, and CDISC standards experts, including those new to CDISC standards.
The CPUN meets on the third Wednesday of every second month at 5pm CET/11am EDT – the next meeting is 20th November.
