Children and young people have historically been excluded from participating in clinical research to protect them from potential harm. Nowadays, we know that it is essential to perform clinical trials with children because they suffer from diseases that adults do not suffer from and because their metabolism requires the right dose and mechanism of action for new treatments.

Children’s Mental Health

Mental health has become less of a taboo topic in recent years and is considered as a part of our overall health. This change is thanks in part to an increase in mental health research and discussion in media. While this has led to great progress in diagnosis and treatment for such disorders in adults, tailored treatments are still lacking for children in this area.
